Megan Garn, Director of Operations
Megan Garn is the Director of Operations with Common Sense Institute where she aligns with CSI leadership in the development and execution of operational procedures, process improvement, and strategic goals that supports consistent growth, community engagement, fundraising, brand recognition, and the overall mission and vision of CSI. Megan brings over five years of experience to CSI as both a communication professional and as a public servant.
Prior to joining CSI in 2020, she served in a communications role with the City of Greeley and the Georgetown Heritage Center, where she sharpened her skills as a communications, and marketing professional.
Prior to her position with the City of Greeley and the Georgetown Heritage Center, she began her career researching, writing, and developing policies while serving as an AmeriCorps VISTA member with Community Resource Center and as the CCCMA Local Government Fellow with the Town of Timnath.
Megan continues to demonstrate her passion for working in communications and with nonprofit organizations by promoting CSI’s mission and serving as a board member. Megan currently serves on the Recent Alumni Board of her alma mater, University of Colorado Denver.
She has a Bachelor of Arts from Kalamazoo College and obtained her Master’s in Public Administration with a concentration on nonprofit management from UCDenver. During her time at UCDenver, she was named the Daniels Fund Ethics Fellow and completed her capstone with the City of Lakewood on exploring the creation and implementation of an advocacy network program in an effort to spread word of mouth of local government programs and facilities.
Megan and her significant other, Adam Gunden, currently make their home in Glendale with their West Highland Terrier, Murphy.
